Reflection
How successful is your magazine cover in your opinion? What makes it successful? What feedback have you gained? Outline
In my opinion, my magazine cover was relatively successful, as I fel we stuck to our brief and acknowledged the feedback on what our readership would like. From the feedback sheets, I was able to find out that most of our readers highly rated the realism of our cover, and the consistency of our font.
What genre is your magazine?
Our magazine is a popular music genre magazine.
Did you attempt to conform to, or subvert conventions? Which ones and why?
I attempted to conform to conventions as I included a well known artist on the front, however I felt we subverted conventions slightly as we chose to include interviews from artists that arent as well known. By doing this we aimed to expand the mindsets of our readers.
Who is the target audience? How have you appealed to your target audience?
Our target audience was teenage girls, and we aimed to attract them by having a catchy name and including a sterotypically attracyive male artist on the front.
How did your questionaire results inform your final product?
The results of our questionaire decided the price, the thickness, the feel, the artist on the cover, whether or not to include a monthly theme, whether to have a subscription option, its size and whether to include information or new and upcoming artists.
What groups are represneted? How and why are they represented?
White males, White females, and black males are represented.
